Hydrology (local and regional scales ):
- water and material transfer,
- soil moisture,
- vegetation, climate and lithology impact on fluvial carbon flux,
- hydrological role of wet zones,
- stable isotopes for water cycling on regional scale,
- hydrological modelling and GIS.
Climate and anthropogenic changes:
- impact of watershed properties changes (vegetation, urbanisation etc.)  on water,        nutrients and carbon cycles,
-  eutrophication ,
- water pollution, water quality standards.
Remote sensing:
- soil moisture and vegetation optical depth (SMOS),
- snow microwave detection (SSM/I)
- water level in inland and coastal waters (altimetry) ,
- watershed water balance (gravimetry),
- surface classification (altimetry, radiometry),
- wetlands regime (altimetry).

 

Teaching experience :

-   Lectures and seminaries : "Climatic changes in boreal regions", "River and reservoir regimes, water and matter balance", "Euthrophication and water quality" in Moscow State University and University of Toulouse III.

-  Training courses on water pollution, water treatment, hydrometry, in situ measurements of environmental parameters.

1) 1993 - present : Field experiment organising (hydrological, snow, ecological, lake and estuary campaigns)

2) 1997-1998 : Expert of State Environmental comity,  Ministry of Natural Resources of Russian Federation.

- oil rig in Caspian Sea,
- diamond secondary deposit in White Sea region.

Projects:

1) CAR-WET-SIB : «Carbon, Water and Metal Transport in Wetlands of Siberia: Key for understanding the future climate and environmental health of boreal zone».

The project comprise a combination of field studies, chemical and isotopic analytical methods, and various remote sensing and modelling techniques.

The teams involved in this study are the LEGOS and GET (Toulouse), the ISTO (Orléans), the Tomsk State University, the Tomsk Polytechnical University, the Tomsk Regional Environmental Centre and the Siberian Centre for research and training on environment.
