IPEV: Comprising representatives of a range of French research agencies, IPEV is based in Brest, France and is an administrative organisation for France's Antarctic research programs. IPEV funds the bulk of the program.

LEGOS: in Toulouse, France, is responsible for the analysis and distribution of the surface thermosalinograph data.

CSIRO: The marine division of Australia's national research agency is headquartered in Hobart. CSIRO provides technical support including the development of logging software and data analysis.

SIO: Headquartered in San Diego, Scripps has been influential in the development of sub-surface ocean observing technologies. Scripps provides instruments for the research program.

The SURVOSTRAL programme is an integral part of the International CLIVAR Southern Ocean programme. The program receives financial support from the Institut Polaire - Emile Victor (IPEV) and the Programme Nationale d'Etudes Dynamique du Climat (PNEDC) in France, the CSIRO Division of Oceanography's Climate Change Program in Australia, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA - USA) through a cooperative agreement NA37GP0518.
