The thermosalinographs on Skogafoss and other vessels between Iceland and North America have been operated by NOAA/AOML with support from NOAA/NMFS and other institutions.
SO SSS has been involved in collecting water samples on those ships and validating the thermosalinograph data by comparison to the water samples and nearby data of Argo floats or earlier Palace floats. The validated/corrected version communicated on this site is not the official NOAA version. Download the validated SSS data.
